We again hosted Matt's Great 8 Tailgate at the Puritan Staples Mill location on Wednesday, June 4th. Matt DiNardo, weather anchor of WRIC TV8′s of Good Morning Richmond, conducted live remote televised cut-ins all day as we raised food and funds for our 100,000 Meals campaign. Visitors of all ages were invited to come by to enjoy free coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the morning and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers during the day. There was live music throughout the day, Nutzy from the Flying Squirrels, and many friends stopped by to offer their support. More importantly, we collected a lot of food and funds for the Central Virginia Foodbank. The 2014 event was a huge success -- and we set a one day record of 50,943 meals collected.
