Puritan joins the Central Virginia Food Bank each spring to raise food and funds for the 100,000 Meals For Kids program. We collect non-perishable foods and donations at all of our locations and through our Free Home Delivery.
Bring in your funds and/or food to any Puritan location, or contribute online via our secure donation page. The Central Virginia Food Bank can provide 5 nourishing meals for each dollar that you give. Your contribution, either via check or through our secure online page, may be tax deductible. Whether it’s a few dollars or a can of tuna, every donation is helpful and appreciated. On behalf of Puritan and the CVFB, we’d like to thank you for your generous gift.
Many businesses ask us how they can help with this program. There’s power in numbers! If only five people in your office donate $10 each, that will provide 250 meals! The Central Virginia Food Bank can provide 5 nourishing meals for each dollar that you give. Tell all your people; post the flyers and posters; send out a company wide email. Encourage everyone to bring in funds and/or food to any Puritan location, or contribute online via our secure donation page. Your contribution, either via check or through our secure online page, may be tax deductible. Arrangements can also be made to pick up large bulk donations. Puritan Cleaners and the Central Virginia Food Bank would like to thank you for providing a work environment that cares for our community.
Children learn by example. Help to teach this lesson by getting them involved with providing a universal need…FOOD. Here’s how you can help:
1. Organize an event for a class, a grade level, or an entire school.
2.Collect Funds or Food. Remember, Feedmore can purchase 5 meals for only one dollar!
3. Contact Puritan to arrange a photo opportunity with your group and to receive a certificate of appreciation.
4. LIMITED pick-up of collected food is possible. Contact us early to reserve your spot or aim your collection on funds.
Thanks to all who are helping feed the kids, and let’s make this year the best one ever!
We again hosted Matt’s Great 8 Tailgate at the Puritan Staples Mill location on Wednesday, June 4th. Matt DiNardo, weather anchor of WRIC TV8’s of Good Morning Richmond, conducted live remote televised cut-ins all day as we raised food and funds for our 100,000 Meals campaign. Visitors of all ages were invited to come by to enjoy free coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the morning and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers during the day. There was live music throughout the day, Nutzy from the Flying Squirrels, and many friends stopped by to offer their support.
More importantly, we collected a lot of food and funds for the Central Virginia Foodbank. The 2015 event was a huge success – and we set a one day record of over 57,000 meals.
