Coats For Kids is one of our flagship community programs. Every year since 1988 we have coats to help keep our community warm. We have collected over a quarter million coats since we've started.

This is another of our very successful community programs. Puritan joins the Central Virginia Food Bank for our 100,000 Meals Program every year for Kids in our area. We collect non-perishable foods and donations at all of our locations and through our Free Home Delivery.

We hosted Matt's Great 8 Tailgate at the Puritan Staples Mill location on April 21, 2010. Matt DiNardo, weather anchor of WRIC TV8's of Good Morning Richmond, conducted live televised cut-ins all day as we raised food and funds for our 100,000 Meals campaign. The event featured free food, live music, and special appearances by local celebrities. More importantly, we collected a lot of food and funds for the Central Virginia Foodbank. At the 2010 Tailgate, we raised enough donations for 28,384 meals. The event was a huge success and is a great part for our annual 100,000 Meals campaign.

On August 19, 2009, we asked you to bring in your pants and we'd clean them free - and you did! We cleaned over 1,100 pair of pants free of charge. All 13 locations participated, as well as our home delivery customers. We were able to see some new faces that day, and hopefully make some new friends. We even had one customer come in to pick up an order, change out of the pants he was wearing, change into a freshly cleaned pair that he was picking up, and left the first pair to be cleaned.

The Cinderella Dreams Project provides prom dresses for area high school girls, lifting the financial burden of parents and teens on a tight budget. Starting Feb. 8th and continuing through March 8th, gowns and accessories are being collected at all Puritan Cleaners locations and metro-Richmond area YMCAs. Puritan Cleaners will inspect and dry clean these gowns at no charge prior to distribution. Accessories should be in new or like-new condition. Girls in need will be able to come 'shop' for a dress the weekend of March 19-20, 2010. The location of the shopping event will be posted on www.cinderelladreams.net.
