Matt's Great 8 Tailgate

We again hosted Matt's Great 8 Tailgate at the Puritan Staples Mill location on April 21. Matt DiNardo, weather anchor of WRIC TV8's of Good Morning Richmond, conducted live remote televised cut-ins all day as we raised food and funds for our 100,000 Meals campaign.

Visitors of all ages came by to enjoy free coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the morning and grilled hot dogs and hamburgers during the day. There was live music from the Richmond Harmonizers and Offering, Richmond Flying Squirrels players Mike Ambort and Andy D'Alessio came by for a visit, and the ladies from Girlfriend We Gotta Talk did an interview with Puritan's Gary Glover too. We also be handed out free Qdoba entree coupons to folks who gave a donation.

More importantly, we collected a lot of food and funds for the Central Virginia Foodbank. At the 2010 Tailgate, we raised enough donations for 28,384 meals. The event was a huge success and is a great part for our annual 100,000 Meals campaign.
